One hundred years pass and he is discovered by Katara and Sokka, two members of the Southern Water Tribe. He quickly learns that he is the last remaining airbender, the rest having been slaughtered by the Fire Nation in the Hundred Year War. Aang also appears in The Legend of Korra

Momo is a winged lemur that Avatar Aang finds during his return to the Southern Air Temple after he was freed from the ice. Momo, like Appa and Aang, was the last of his kind, and joined the Avatar on his quest.
