Yamato, also known by her nickname Princess Oni, is a major character in the One Piece franchise created by Eiichiro Oda. It is confirmed that Yamato was born biologically female. Yamato was even called Princess Oni to confirm this. Yamato is the daughter (self-proclaimed son) of former Four Sea Emperors member Kaido, who also has many epithets. Kaido liked to call his daughter as his son so that Yamato could succeed him as heir. She first appeared in the Wano Country Arc.

Since the age of 9, Yamato has developed a deep admiration for the legendary samurai Kozuki Oden. After Oden's death, Yamato decided to become like him, impersonating him and adopting his mannerisms.Due to this desire to emulate Oden, Yamato decided to become a man and identify himself as Kaidou's son, with his father and the Pirates also referring to him as such. Yamato was constantly abused by his father as a child and imprisoned in Onigashima.
