Funko Pop Patronus Remus Lupin 130

Although Remus Lupin taught Harry how to cast a Patronus spell, we never actually saw what shape his own spell took, only that Tonks’s changed to a wolf after falling in love with him. According to J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore entry on Remus, his Patronus was a normal wolf, not a werewolf, due to their non-threatening and family-orientated nature. However, since Lupin hated all things wolf, he shied away from casting corporeal Patronuses, instead opting to produce non-corporeal ones.

The Patronus Charm (Expecto Patronum) is the most famous and one of the most powerful defensive charms known to wizardkind. It was an immensely complicated and extremely difficult spell, that channelled the caster's positive emotions into a powerful protection and evoked a partially-tangible positive energy force known as a Patronus or spirit guardian. It was the primary protection against Dementors and Lethifolds, against which there were no other defences. There were two types of Patronuses: corporeal, which meant a Patronus with a particular shape and form, and incorporeal Patronuses. Incorporeal Patronuses had no particular shape and did not protect against Dementors the way corporeal Patronuses did, and has no hope of fending off scores of them like its more substantial counterpart would. However, some wizards like Remus Lupin chose to cast incorporeal Patronuses to hide their identity.
